ESSENTIAL OILS

Our skin is our body's biggest organ. Essential oils have the ability to work right into the deepest layers of the skin. Once they enter the body through the epidermis they can travel through the bloodstream to other organs and are also taken up by the lymphatic system which removes dead cells from the body. It is so important that one avoids any kind of chemical compounds in your body creams and make-up for this reason too, but you can be pro-active in nourishing your body by massaging your body with essential oils.

Our potent ingredients:

ORGANIC SWEET ALMOND OIL

A light and fine oil perfect for massaging. It is used to prevent skin from wrinkling and has a high nutritional value. Antioxidant-rich, high in vitamin E, fat and protein. Sweet almond oil nourishes your skin to make it smoother and softer.

FRANKINCENSE (BOSWELLIA SERATA)

Frankincense and Myrrh were the first gums to be used as incense. Frankincense especially, was one of the most highly prized substances of the ancient world. Notes: woody, rich and warm. The penetrating aroma and its ability to deepen the breathing have made it a helpful aid in meditation. 

SANDALWOOD (SANTALUM ALBUM)

Sandalwood has been used since ancient times in India and Egypt as a perfume and for religious ceremonies. The scent is woody, sweet with an oriental undertone. It is also renowned as an aphrodisiac. 

  • Sandalwood is also used for the following conditions: low mood, melancholy, anxiety, nervous tension, dry skin, insomnia, acne and sexual difficulties.

MYRRH (COMMIPHORA MYRRHA)

Myrrh was one of the most widely used essential oils in ancient times for incense, perfumes and medicine.  Because of its ability to preserve the flesh myrrh is nowadays used as a cosmetic ingredient. Notes: warm, woody and earthy.

LAVENDER

As beautiful as it is heavily scented, it has been used as perfume for centuries and in folk medicine it is traditionally used to soothe anxiety and depression. Applied directly to the temples can aid relaxation, encourages recovery, and a sense of calm. We use this in our Grief Balm for exactly those reasons.

ROSE

According to a study in 2009 published in Natural Product Communications, which studied 40 participants, who either used rose essential oil or a placebo as a skin moisturiser, those who used Rose reported that they experienced an increased sense of relaxation and feelings of being calm, compared to those who had received the placebo.

BERGAMOT

Bergamot is derived from a citrus fruit, it’s comforting aroma aids in letting go of emotions that no longer serve us. It is antidepressant and instils light joyful emotions.

STAR OF BETHLEHEM

For those in great distress under conditions which for a time produce great unhappiness. The shock of serious news, the loss of someone dear, the fright following an accident, and such like. For those who for a time refuse to be consoled this remedy brings comfort. [Bach: Twelve Healers and Other Remedies 1936]
